I've felt for a number of years that the English language needs a word that means "beauty of decay". The Japanese have a word, ? sabushi ?, which roughly translates (I think) as "the beauty of a well-worn thing", but it doesn't have quite the same meaning. They also have wabi sabi, which relates to "beauty in imperfection", which is kind of how things are often better and more human if they aren't perfectly symmetrical, square, etc - the way nature makes things instead of the way architects do.
